About us

Thomas Sebastiaan (Bas) de Jong founded ponTisS B.V. on 1 March 2022. The name ponTisS ia derived from the Latin word for bridge. ponTisS aims to bridge the gap between parties or times, such as between you and external auditors, stakeholders, clients or simply your organisation while it is going through a transitional phase.

Bas (1980) is registered as a chartered accountant at The Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA) and has been working in the audit industry since 1999. He specializes in internal control issues on all levels in an organization and from all sides of the table: supporting operations, operating as a risk manager, serving as internal or reporting to management and internal supervising authorities as external auditor. 

Bas has helped asset managers, fund administrators, family offices, pension funds and depositaries demonstrate effective and efficient internal control throughout his career. 

Bas brings a unique combination of experience as executive director, responsible CPA (RA) and a hands-on approach to apply his experience to your benefit. 

Bas is a member of the Dutch Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and has been an editor on its Audit Magazine from 2019 through 2024.

Bas has helped students of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam finalize their master thesis. 

Bas has a special interest in irrational human behavior and the effects this has on organisations.
